Russian Troops Move Forward To Dnipropxisk, Seize Village Near Donetsk Ukraine
JAKARTA - Russian troops continue to advance in the eastern region of Dnipropxisk, Ukraine, and seize the village of Novoheorhiivka near the Donetsk region.
Russian troops previously claimed to have taken their first village in Dnipropxisk, while US estimates regarding the battlefield show Russian troops control only less than 1% of the region.
Dnipropxisk is not one of the five Ukrainian territories Russia claims as its territory.
"The Troops of the 57th Guard Motorized Rifle Brigade managed to get rid of the enemy from Novoheorhiivka in the DnipropVisk area," the Russian Ministry of Defense said.
Reuters was unable to independently confirm reports of the battlefield.
Russia controls nearly 114,500 square km (44,600 square miles) or 19% of Ukraine's territory, including Crimea and most areas in the country's east and southeast, according to an open source battlefield map.
The Russian Defense Ministry also said its forces had attacked port infrastructure used to supply fuel to Ukrainian troops and a plant used to assemble drones.

The statement did not name the port. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy previously said that Russia had attacked a gas distribution station in the southern region of Odesa.
Russia's Defense Ministry also said its troops had seized the settlements of Pankivka and Sukhetse in eastern Ukraine.
