'After We Didn't Finish We Pami!' Roy Suryo Gave A Limit On His Examination At The Metro Police Until It Was Just Maghrib
JAKARTA - Telematics expert Roy Suryo has limited his examination time as a witness in the alleged defamation and slander case related to allegations of fake diplomas by President Joko Widodo. He stated that the examination would only last until Maghrib time, Wednesday, August 20.
Roy emphasized that the time limit was carried out to avoid potential criminalization of himself and other witnesses from the reporting party.
"If Maghrib is not finished, then we will finish saying goodbye. Please schedule it again," Roy told reporters at Polda Metro Jaya.
According to Roy, the move was taken based on previous experience experienced by three people from his side. The three of them were questioned since morning but only finished in the early hours of the morning.
"Starting to check, there are those who are at 10, at 11 pm, but some are just finished at 9 pm, at 12 pm, even at 4 am. This is very inhumane," said Roy.
On that basis, Roy along with two other witnesses, namely Kurnia Tri Rayani and Rizal Fadillah, agreed to limit the examination to Maghrib only.
Apart from the question of time, Roy also stated that he would only answer questions related to the material written in the summons, namely related to the incident on January 22, 2025.
"We will not answer questions that have nothing to do with summons," he said.
Roy said that as a witness, he would only provide information according to what he knew about the reported case.
As is known, Polda Metro Jaya has raised the status of cases of alleged defamation and slander related to President Jokowi's diploma to the investigation stage. This case was reported directly by the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia.
The increase in the status of this case was decided after the case was carried out by the Sub-Directorate of State Security (Kamneg) on Thursday, July 10.
