Fuel Scarcity Paralyzes Labuan Bajo? Pertamina Sends Tank Car Troops From 3 Islands At Once

SURABAYA - PT Pertamina Patra Niaga in East Java, Bali and Nusa Tenggara (Jatimbalinus) has added a fleet of fuel distributions (BBM) to Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), to overcome the scarcity of supply that has occurred in recent times.

A total of two additional tankers were deployed from Bali and West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), each from the Sanggaran and TBBM Badas BBM Terminals. The capacity of each tank reaches 8 kiloliters (kl). Meanwhile, from Waingapu, East Sumba, a tank car with a capacity of 16 kl was also deployed.

"In total, currently there are 12 units of fuel tankers assigned, including the previous nine units from the Maumere and Ende BBM Terminals," said Area Manager Communication, Relations & CSR Pertamina Patra Niaga Jatimbalinus, Sunday Rahedi in Surabaya, Antara, Wednesday, August 20.

With this addition, the total capacity of the assisted tankers reaches 32 kl to accelerate the distribution of fuel to the Labuan Bajo area, which is one of the main tourist destinations in Indonesia.

Sunday explained that in addition to the additional fleet, the supply of fuel to gas stations also continues to be maximized with 24 hours of operating hours. This makes conditions in the field start to be conducive.

"The supply is still running from the Maumere and Ende BBM Terminals," he said.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday (19/8), the tanker had unloaded at the Reo Fuel Terminal with 250,000 liters of Pertamina Dex and 800,000 liters of Biosolar to increase fuel availability in the region.

"With the addition of the fleet, fuel supply, two supply transfer points, and distribution optimization, Pertamina Patra Niaga moved quickly to secure fuel fulfillment in Labuan Bajo and its surroundings," said Sunday.

Pertamina also expressed appreciation for the understanding and patience of the community for the scarcity of fuel that occurred, which was triggered by disturbances in ship mobilization due to extreme weather some time ago.
