Unfit For Use, Paledang JPO Officially Closed Starting August 20
The Paledang People's Crossing Bridge (JPO) officially closed starting Wednesday, August 20. This closure was carried out after the results of a construction feasibility study by the Directorate General of Highways of the Indonesian Ministry of Public Works (PU) Number: BM 0503-DO/689 stated that the JPO condition was no longer suitable for use.
Following up on the results of the technical study, the Bogor City Government (Pemkot) will immediately carry out the demolition process in order to maintain public safety.
The Mayor of Bogor, Dedie A. Rachim, emphasized that the safety of citizens is a top priority.
"We understand that the Paledang JPO is quite vital for community activities, but the official research results state that its condition is very dangerous. For this reason, the Bogor City Government and related parties will immediately carry out the demolition", said Dedie Rachim, Tuesday, August 19.
He stressed that the safety of citizens should not be compromised.
In addition, Dedie Rachim said that the Bogor City Government would coordinate with the Ministry of Public Works and related agencies to review alternative solutions for the needs of crossing facilities in the area.
Meanwhile, based on the study conducted, the JPO Paledang ladder has a very steep gradient (over 30 deg). So it is not friendly and less attractive, especially for the elderly and people with disabilities.
Likewise, based on the analysis of facility needs, based on the results of technical recommendation standard analysis, the crossing is not in the same field.
In addition, it is necessary to arrange street vendors and angkot stops so that the performance of Jalan Major Oking is more optimal.
Head of the Bogor City Transportation Service (Kadishub), Sujatmiko Baliarto, revealed that the closing of the JPO will be carried out by installing a barrier and notification banner.
