BGN: Budget Of IDR 335 Trillion For Nutrition Intervention To Digitalization

JAKARTA - Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Dadan Hindayana said the plan for the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) budget of IDR 335 trillion in 2026 will be focused on nutritional intervention to digitizing the operation of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG).

"For the Rp335 trillion fund next year, there will be more for MBG intervention because for the intervention alone we will use approximately Rp1.2 trillion per day or around Rp25 trillion per month, because we have assumed that the beneficiaries cover Rp82.9 million. , Tuesday, August 19.

He emphasized that most of the funds from the budget or around 75 percent will be used for nutritious food interventions ranging from pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, non-PAUD toddlers, and all students ranging from PAUD to SMA.

In addition, he continued, from a budget of IDR 335 trillion, it will be optimized for the support of SPPG's management and operational digitization to make it easier to monitor and control.

"Then apart from nutrition intervention, this is of course for management support because operational and others are included for digitization. We want everything to be recorded and easy to monitor through digitalization, and we admit that digitalization is still lagging behind because there is one thing and another," he said.

Dadan admitted that so far the SPPG operation is still lagging behind because the system has not been fully digitized, therefore the budget support is very influential in improving BGN governance in the future.

"Seharusnya ketika satu SPPG berdiri itu sudah masuk dalam sistem yang digitalisasi, mulai dari anak-anak di absent setiap hari, kemudian penempatnya itu masuk di SPPG dan datanya bisa langsung ke pusat. Nah, ini kami agak lagi akan kami kekejar di tahun depan," tuturnya.

Dadan said that the MBG program initiated by the government was not just an effort to fulfill nutrition, but had become a new economic driver at the community level. BGN data shows that, until mid-August 2025, 5,905 MBG kitchens have been established or the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) which serves around 20.5 million beneficiaries.

The establishment of these kitchens is carried out through collaboration with local entrepreneurs, community organizations, and non-governmental organizations, without adding to the burden on the 2025 State Budget. Investments absorbed from the community to build kitchen infrastructure are estimated at IDR 12 trillion.

"An increase of about 19,000 other kitchens that have been built but have not yet operated, the investment value is projected to reach IDR 38 trillion. Overall, the economic turnover of this program has the potential to reach IDR 50 trillion," said Dadan.

Previously, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto committed to continuing the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program with a budget allocation of IDR 335 trillion in the 2026 State Budget Bill (RUU).

The Head of State in a state speech on the 2026 State Budget Bill at the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday (15/8) said that the superior generation can only be born to healthy children with met nutrition.

"We build a superior generation of our children through MBG. A superior generation is born from a healthy body with met nutrition," he said.

The President targets the MBG program to be able to reach 82.9 million students, pregnant women, and toddlers in all corners of the country.
