COVID-19 Update As Of May 10: 4,891 New Cases, 206 Deaths
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released additional positive cases of the latest COVID-19 as of today. A total of 49,483 specimens were examined with the result that there were 4,891 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was found in Indonesia reached 1,718,575 people and active cases of 96,742 cases", as quoted from the Ministry of Health data, Monday, May 10.
Cases recovered today increased by 4,891 cases, bringing the total to 1,574,615 people cured. Then, the number of positive confirmation cases that died increased by 206 people and a total of 47,218 people.
The province with the newest cases was in West Java with 1,070 cases and a total of 292,592 cases. Followed by Central Java which has 854 new cases with a total of 188,065 cases. DKI Jakarta has 694 new cases and a total of 416,341 cases. Then, Riau has 551 new cases and a total of 49,437 cases.
The province with the most cured cases today belongs to West Java with an increase of 2,304 cured cases. Followed by Central Java with an increase of 746 cases recovered, Riau with an increase of 631 cases recovered, and DKI Jakarta with an increase of 606 cases recovered.
Four provinces reported no new cases today. The provinces that reported zero new cases were Gorontalo, Maluku, North Maluku, and Papua.
In addition, the number of specimens examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 15,251,210.
"The positive result per number of specimens examined or positivity rate this week was 16.99 percent", he wrote.
For the number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases, there were 89,231 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.
Currently, 13,475,087 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 8,755,256 second dose vaccinations. Meanwhile, the total vaccination target of phases 1 and 2 reached 40,349,051 people.
