Undata Palu Hospital Receives Referral For Poso Earthquake Victims

PALU - The Undata Palu Regional General Hospital (RSUD) received a referral from a patient who was the victim of the Poso earthquake from the Poso Hospital, on Tuesday morning.

"At around one o'clock in the evening, referral patients have entered the Emergency Room at the Undata Hospital," said Deputy Director of Services at the Undata Muhammad Natsir Hospital in Palu, Antara, Tuesday, August 19.

According to him, Undata Hospital is a referral center hospital in Central Sulawesi. So, always be ready if there are patients referred from the regions for further treatment.

Meanwhile, the Director of the Undata Palu Hospital, Herri Mulyadi, prepared emergency services for victims of the 5.8 magnitude earthquake, rocked Poso Regency, Sunday at 06.36 WITA.

"We have prepared ER services and specialist doctors, if at any time there are patients referred to Palu from Poso," he said.

He emphasized that the Undata Hospital continues to communicate with the Poso Hospital to monitor the development of earthquake victims, according to the order of the deputy governor of Central Sulawesi.

Previously, the Director of the Poso Hospital, Jemy Wololy, stated that currently, the hospital is still treating a number of earthquake victims who suffered serious or moderate injuries.

"At the Poso Hospital, there were two patients who were treated intensively in the ICU, nine patients underwent surgical treatment, two patients had been discharged, and two patients died," he said.

The Poso Regency Government (Pemkab) has declared an emergency response status after a magnitude 5.8 earthquake rocked Poso Regency on Sunday, August 17.

The emergency response status for the earthquake for 14 days starts from August 18 to 31, 2025.

This status is based on the Decree (SK) of the Regent of Poso Number 100.3.2.2/0580/2025 concerning the determination of the emergency response status of the earthquake disaster in Poso Pesisir District, North Coast Poso, and Pesisir Selatan Poso Regency.
