National Police Security Intelligence Agency: KKB's Actions In Papua Have Been Terrible, Not Only Targeting Officials, But Also Civilians
JAKARTA - The Head of the National Police Security Intelligence Agency Commissioner, General of Police Paulus Waterpauw, said the acts of violence and acts of terror committed by Armed Criminal Groups (KKB) in The Land of Papua have been terrible so the government labeled them as terrorists.
"Their actions have been very terrible", said Paulus Waterpauw in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Monday, April 10.
The crimes committed by the KKB are not only directed at the security forces but also target civilians, health workers, educators to the burning or destruction of several public facilities.
In fact, Commissioner General of Police Paulus said the last time to Yahukimo was knowing a worker who was carrying bricks was harvested by KKB. After falling, the victim was then killed using an ax.
"After killing the victim, the body was dumped to the river. Their actions were horrific", he said.
Keep in mind that the former Chief of Police of Papua and West Papua, KKB is only a small group and does not represent the people of Papua.
Therefore, he asked all parties, especially Papuans, not to get carried away with labeling terrorists to the KKB because it is directed specifically to the group and not the Papuan community in general.
"That's just a group. They have to take responsibility for what they did. That's why they're wanted", he said.
Similarly, with other groups monitored by the National Police about four to five groups, it's just that the process was not immediately announced and decided because it had to go through the courts.
"Today it is being tested in court or submitted the lists with various demands of their actions that will then be decided by the judge", said the General of three-star that born in Fakfak, West Papua.
Lastly, he is now asking the public to remain patient with the policies that will be taken by the government.
