KPK Questions Former North Sumatra High Prosecutor Idianto Related To Road Project Bribery Case

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has questioned the former Head of the North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office, Idianto. He was questioned as a witness in an alleged bribery case involving a road construction project at the Public Works and Public Housing Agency (PUPR) and the North Sumatra Region 1 Public Works and Public Works Work Unit (Satker PJN).

"The questioning has been carried out," said Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK, Asep Guntur Rahayu, when confirmed by reporters on Tuesday, August 19.

The questioning was conducted at the Attorney General's Office. The process coincided with Idianto's questioning at the Attorney General's Office's Junior Attorney General for Supervision (JAMWAS).

"The questioning is simultaneous," emphasized Asep, who also serves as the KPK's Director of Investigations.

In addition to Idianto, the KPK has also questioned two other prosecutors: the Head of the Mandailing Natal District Attorney's Office, Muhammad Iqbal, and the Head of the Civil and State Administration Section of the Mandailing Natal District Attorney's Office, Gomgoman Haloman Simbolon.

Meanwhile, KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that several matters were being investigated regarding Idianto. All of them are related to the alleged bribery uncovered during a recent sting operation (OTT).

"Investigators are reviewing information related to the road construction and preservation project in North Sumatra," Budi stated separately.

"The person's statement will be analyzed and compared with statements provided by other witnesses," he continued.

As previously reported, the KPK conducted a sting operation (OTT) in North Sumatra on Thursday, June 26. It is suspected that bribery involved a road construction project in the province.

As a result of this operation, the anti-corruption commission named Topan Obaja Putra Ginting, also known as Topan Ginting, Head of the North Sumatra Public Works and Public Housing Agency, as a suspect along with four other individuals. They are Rasuli Effendi Siregar, Head of the Gunung Tua Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) of the North Sumatra Public Works and Public Housing Agency, concurrently serving as the Commitment Making Officer (PPK); Heliyanto, the PPK for the North Sumatra Province Regional Public Works Agency (PJN) Region I; M. Akhirun Efendi Siregar, the President Director of PT DNG; and M. Rayhan Dulasmi Pilang, the Director of PT RN.

Topan has been in the spotlight since he was inaugurated as the Head of the Public Works and Public Housing Agency on February 24th by North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution. He previously served as Head of the Public Works Agency (PUPR), or the Medan City Water Resources, Highways, and Construction Agency, and served as Acting Regional Secretary of Medan City when the son-in-law of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia served as Mayor of Medan.
