Telkomsel Re-Injects $ 300 million Of Fresh Funds For Gojek

JAKARTA - Telkomsel injected fresh funds worth $ 300 million or equivalent to IDR 4.4 trillion as a form of investment. This additional fund is expected to bring more innovative collaborations, both in Gojek and Telkomsel.

With these additional investments, Telkomsel and Gojek will open more synergy opportunities and digital service integration to provide greater added value to customers, communities, and all partners in the business ecosystem of both companies.

"The continued investment from Telkomsel is an affirmation of the common vision of the two companies that were both born and developed to answer real problems in the community through digital innovation and technology, with a passion to serve and advance the country", said Telkomsel President Director, Setyanto Hantoro.

Setyanto explained that this corporate action is part of Telkomsel's strategy in strengthening the trifecta of the company's digital business, namely Digital Connectivity, Digital Platform, and Digital Services. This is a further strategic supported by Telkomsel's shareholders, namely Telkom Indonesia and Singtel Group.

Gojek Group Co-CEO Andre Soelistyo further added that Telkomsel's continued funding will optimize the resources and technological expertise of each company to innovate and expand the benefits of the digital economy for more consumers, driver-partners, and MSMEs throughout Indonesia.

"We believe and are committed that this partnership will support the acceleration of Indonesia's digital transformation which will strengthen Indonesia's position as the market leader of the digital economy in Southeast Asia", Andre said.

This is a further investment after Telkomsel invested $ 150 million into Gojek in November 2020. Through this latest investment, Telkomsel and Gojek are committed to strengthening their contributions in driving Indonesia's transformation as a digital country.

Ecosystem integration is carried out through various collaborations of customer-centric service initiatives ranging from strengthening the digital ecosystem in the MSME sector and to providing convenience for driver-partners.

Some of these include integrating Telkomsel MyAds services with GoBiz, the convenience for Gojek MSMEs partners through the DigiPOS Aja App. There is also the provision of special data packages for Gojek driver-partners

GoShop service from 20,000 Telkomsel outlet/reseller partners. This includes the collaboration of co-marketing games services through Telkomsel Dunia Games and GoPay in cooperation with Tencent.
