Suzuki Indonesia Recalls 174 GIXXER 250SF Motorcycles Due to Rear Braking Problems
JAKARTA - PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) announced the Suzuki Product Quality Update, or recall, for 174 GIXXER 250SF motorcycles currently in circulation in Indonesia.
This measure aims to inspect the rear brake caliper bracket component. The initiative will run from August 18, 2025, at all authorized Suzuki repair shops.
Hariadi, Assistant to the Aftersales Department Head of Service at PT SIS, stated that the Suzuki Indonesia family is very grateful for the loyalty of its customers.
"Our concern for our customers is ongoing, as evidenced by the latest Product Quality Update program aimed at GIXXER 250SF owners and users. The service team from authorized Suzuki repair shops is ready to inspect the condition of the units, providing customers with peace of mind," he said in an official statement received on Tuesday, August 19.
Based on the evaluation results of routine quality checks, Suzuki recommends that owners of GIXXER 250SF vehicles manufactured in 2022-2025 undergo a further inspection of the rear brake caliper bracket components at an authorized Suzuki repair shop.
A potential specification discrepancy has been identified, potentially resulting in suboptimal braking performance over the long term. If the mechanics discover this condition on a customer's unit, SIS will guarantee free replacement of parts and service.
So, how can you ensure your vehicle is eligible for this recall program? GIXXER 250SF owners can visit the official Suzuki website and enter their vehicle's chassis number. Alternatively, customers can visit the nearest authorized Suzuki repair shop throughout Indonesia.
Inspections or component replacements are handled directly by experts and take only 15 minutes, and if replacement is required, a maximum of one hour. This service is free of charge, demonstrating PT SIS's commitment to product quality and customer satisfaction.
"Although the potential for component incompatibilities in some units already in the hands of consumers is not significant, we feel it is very necessary to provide this information as a form of responsibility as a professional company that cares for its customers. We hope this good faith will provide peace of mind, satisfaction, and increase trust in Suzuki," Hariadi concluded.
