Model Y L Officially Launches, SUV 6 Latest Passengers From Tesla For IDR 766 Million

JAKARTA Today Tesla officially announced the launch of the Model Y L in China which is a larger version of the standard with six seats ready to compete directly with a number of models such as Li Auto i8 and Onvo L90 that have been launched, as well as the Aito M8 EV which will soon enter the market.

CarNewsChina reported Tuesday, August 19, with prices ranging from 339,000 yuan (around Rp766 million), Model Y L offers a number of significant updates both in terms of exterior and interior, with scheduled deliveries starting in September.

The Y L model comes with some subtle changes that make it different from the standard Model Y. The roof lines of the vehicle are redesigned and the rear spoilers are updated for a more dynamic look. This aerodynamic increase results in a very low air drag (drag coefficient), which is 0.216.

In terms of size, the Model Y L has a length of 4976 mm, a width of 1920 mm, and a height of 1668 mm, with a wheelbase of 3040 mm. Despite being the smallest among its main competitors, the Model Y L still offers a wide space.

The Model Y L cabinet is now equipped with a new 16-inch central touch screen. The wireless charging feature at the front has been upgraded to support simultaneous fast charging of up to 50W and 30W. The audio system is also redesigned with new mid-container speakers and two additional speakers at the top. Each chair in the second and third rows is also equipped with a charging port.

Performance and Security

The Y L model is powered by an all-wheel-drive dual-motor system. The front motor produces a maximum output of 142 kW (190 hp) and a motorbike behind 198 kW (266 hp), allowing this SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. This vehicle is equipped with 82 kWh lithium ternary battery, which offers a range of CLTC of 751 km and energy consumption of 12.8 kWh/100km.

The security feature is a priority with three lines of airbags covering a total protection area of 3.9 meters, protecting more than 95 percent of the vehicle's longitudinal space.

One of the advantages of the Model Y L is a very flexible cargo space. The cargo volume can be expanded to 2539 liters, enough to accommodate two 24-inch suitcases and a 20-inch suitcase. By folding the third row seat, the cargo space can accommodate four 28-inch suitcases and two 20-inch suitcases.
