Research Team Finds Three New Findings At The Mount Padang Site

JAKARTA - The research team for the restoration and further research of the Mount Padang Site in Campaka District, Cianjur Regency, West Java received three new discoveries, namely in the form of stones, the structure of the undakan beside the stairs, and the pillars of the buffer towards the underground structure.

The head of Ali Akbar's research team on Monday said the team, which has worked since the last two weeks, will continue to try to open various mystery veils stored on prehistoric sites older than the Egyptian Pyramids.

"One of the sources of rock in Mount Padang, comes from Mount Pasir Pogor which is about five kilometers from the site, where the mountain is in the form of rocks and the research team finds a line forming a rectangle," he said.

Rocks from the mountain will be tested in the laboratory to match the material with rocks in the site area. The rock in the form of a five-square long rod is thought to have resulted from volcanic activity in the Mount Padang area millions of years ago.

Volcanic activity produces solid rock. Initially, rocks in the site area came from the southern region, where there is a place called Ciukir which is two kilometers from the site.

"After observing, we found that there was a rock mountain in the north of the site which resembled rocks on Mount Padang. Rock samples have been taken and will be tested in the laboratory. The results will come out in the next three weeks," he said.

The results of the study also revealed the structure of the undakan beside the stairs, by observing carefully the scenery around when climbing the stairs towards the main terrace of Mount Padang. In the middle of the stairs can be seen a unique structure among the growing trees.

The tree grows on a flat ground on the sidelines of a fine structure outside the main terrace, showing the Mount Padang site is a large building structure, not just the five main terraces visible from the surface.

"In previous research, a building structure was found at a depth of tens of meters underground, there may be a large room, so we will try to reveal the truth," he said.

In addition, his party also succeeded in uncovering the pillars of the buffer towards an underground structure, in the form of a number of rocks with positions standing upright at a number of points on the Mount Padang site.

Researchers found that about four rocks were quite long and were embedded underground, where the rocks were thought to be pillars of the main structure support for the site and retaining the structure of the building which was still buried underground.

"We will conduct further research using lidar and other tools so that various mysteries that have been buried one by one can be revealed," he said.
