Get Independence Remission, Ronald Tannur Is Confirmed To Be In Salemba Prison

JAKARTA - Gregorius Ronald Tannur is confirmed to be still in Salemba Prison, Jakarta. He had to carry out his sentence even though he received remission or cut his sentence in commemoration of the 80th Indonesian Independence Day.

"Yes, he is still serving a criminal period in Salemba Prison," said Head of Salemba Prison M. Fadil when confirmed, Monday, August 18.

Fadil denied reports that Ronald had been released.

"He just got remission," he said.

Previously reported, 1,519 out of a total of 1,630 correctional inmates (WBP) or inmates and prisoners at Class IIA Salemba Prison, Central Jakarta received remission on August 17, 2025.

The main requirement for prisoners who want to get remission is good behavior. This is evidenced by the note that in the last six months before the date of granting remission, prisoners are not serving disciplinary punishment.

Not only about attitude, remissions are also only given to prisoners who have served more than six months in prison. Meanwhile, new inmates who have not passed the time have not been able to apply for a reduced sentence.

The names of prisoners with cases that attracted national attention were Gregorius Ronald Tannur.

Gregorius Ronald Tannur is the son of an official who was in the spotlight for the murder of his girlfriend, Dini Sera Afriyanti (29). The murder incident occurred last October 2023 in Surabaya, East Java.

Then other prisoners who received remission were John Kei, Ahmad Fathanah, Shane Lukas, Edward Soeryadjaya, Windu Aji Sutanto and Ervan Fajar Mandala. They get a three-month reduced prison term or 90 days.

Meanwhile, convicts who were caught in the lead corruption case of PT Timah Tbk, Alwin Albar and Emil Ermindra were confirmed not to have received remission.
