Earthquake 5.0 Magnitude Shakes North Halmahera Regency
JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) stated that an earthquake measuring 5.0 magnitude rocked Doi Island, North Halmahera Regency (Halut), North Maluku Province on Sunday at 22:03 WIB.
Quoted from ANTARA, Sunday, August 17, 2025, BMKG explained that the epicenter of the earthquake was 81 km southwest of Doi Island, North Maluku.

In writing, the coordinates of the earthquake were at 2.12 North Latitude (LU) and 127.07 East Longitude (BT), with a depth of 10 km.
Gempa tersebut tidak berpotensi tsunami. BMKG meminta masyarakat berhati-hati terhadap gempa bumi susulan yang mungkin terjadi.
