Five Flood-affected Schools In Mataram Handled By The Ministry Of Education And Culture
MATARAM - Mataram City Education Office, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) stated that as many as five junior high schools (SMP) affected by flooding on July 6 were immediately handled by the central government through the Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen).
Head of the Basic Education Division of the Mataram City Education Office (Disdik) Syarafudin in Mataram, Sunday, said the five junior high schools affected by the flood were being recorded by the central government.
"For the implementation of the improvement of the affected junior high school, the central government team is still being assessed as the basis for determining the budget needs and making cooperation agreements (PKS)," he said.
A total of five junior high schools affected by the flood that will be repaired by the central government include SMP Negeri 16 Mataram, SMP Negeri 20 and 22 Mataram in Sandubaya, then SMP Negeri 21 Mataram in Sekarbela District, and SMP Negeri 13 Mataram on Jalan Pemuda.

He said the amount of budget assistance each school will likely vary, because it is adjusted to the needs and levels of damage to each school.
"So, we cannot say how much assistance will be given. However, we predict the type of assistance program in the form of plus rehabilitation," he said.
Usually, continued Syarafudin, assistance from the central government is carried out with a ministry's self-management system, so that all administrative and other activities are handled by the central government. "We only accept finished goods," he said.
In addition to improving junior high schools affected by flooding, he added, this year's central government has also provided rehabilitation programs for 19 school units in Mataram City.
The 19 schools consist of 16 elementary schools (SD) and three for junior high school rehabilitation, namely SMP Negeri 11 Mataram, SMPIT Anak Soleh, and SMPIT Tunas Cendikia.
As for the 16 elementary schools, among others, SD Negeri 1 Mataram, SD Negeri 2 Cakranegara, and SD Negeri 16 Mataram.
The amount of school rehabilitation assistance for 19 schools is different, because it depends on the part of the school that will be renovated.
"Whether it's classrooms, sanitation, or toilets. However, most of those that will be renovated are toilets," he said.
For the 19 schools, he said, they had signed a cooperation agreement (PKS) with the Indonesian Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen), because it was carried out self-management by the ministry.
All processes, including the Commitment Making Officer (PPK) are directly from the ministry, and for the process of disbursing the budget directly to schools and fully implementation of the ministry.
"We serve as a monitoring and monitoring team," he said.
