Gibran's Answer When Asked The Reason For Wearing Gayo Traditional Clothes On Indonesian Independence Day

JAKARTA - Again, not as harmonious as in 2024, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming and his wife Selvi Ananda wore different traditional clothes during the ceremony to commemorate Indonesia's independence at the Merdeka Palace, Central Jakarta, Sunday, August 17.

Gibran wears traditional Gayo Palace clothes, Central Aceh. Meanwhile, Selvi wore traditional Palembang clothes.

When asked by reporters the reason for wearing Gayo Gibran's custom was because at the celebration of the Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day last year, he was already wearing Papuan traditional clothes. Meanwhile, Selvi wore traditional Lampung clothes.
