Giant Red And White Flag Spread In Jakarta Aquarium
JAKARTA - The giant Red and White Flag on Sunday was stretched in water at the Jakarta Aquarium & Safari, West Jakarta City, in a series of events celebrating the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.
The 5x6 meter red and white flag fixing event was carried out with the accompaniment of the song "Indonesia Raya."
Jakarta General Manager Aquarium & Safari Angela Stella said the flag-raising in the aquarium was carried out by professional divers.
The establishment of the Red and White Flag in the water was followed by Archipelagoan Underwater, which performed dances from various regions in Indonesia.
"For Archipelagoan Underwater, there will be friends dancing on stage, but the difference will be that someone dances from inside the aquarium," Stella said as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, August 17.
Dancers dressed in traditional dances outside the aquarium and three dancers dressed as dugongs in the water performed a beautiful and harmonious movement in the event.
The 17's competition was also held underwater in a series of events celebrating the independence of the Republic of Indonesia at the Jakarta Aquarium & Safari recreation area.
The competition that was held included pillow wars and the competition to take coins on coconuts.
Muntaz Taufik Hidayat, a diver who is one of the competition referees, said that the competition in the water presents its own challenges.
"Because it's in the water, it's quite difficult to take a breath," he said.
