Today, Residents Are Enthusiastic About Getting A KRL Tariff Of IDR 80 To Monas
JAKARTA - The enthusiasm of residents for utilizing the special tariff program for the Electric Rail Train (KRL) for Rp. 80 in commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia has begun to be seen since Sunday, August 17, 2025, morning. The station in Jabodetabek is crowded with passengers who want to go to the Central Jakarta National Monument (Monas), to participate in enlivening the atmosphere of celebrating independence.
Long lines at counters and electronic gates can be seen from the large number of families who come with their children, while carrying red and white flags and attributes with independence nuances.
"I'm very grateful to be able to go to Monas with my family, on KRL only Rp80. The children are also happy to see that the atmosphere of the Indonesian Independence Day must be crowded," said resident from Tambun Siti Nurjannah (28) ANTARA.
For many residents, the experience of riding the Rp80 KRL to Monas is not just a matter of cheap tariffs, but also a moment of family togetherness on long holidays.
"Usually when going to Monas you can ride a motorbike or a car, but this time try KRL together. It feels more fun, the tariff is also good, especially when it's crowded with other residents. It feels like joining the independence parade," said Siti.

The group of students are no less enthusiastic about trying out the experience of a cheap KRL ride to see the crowd of Monas during the 80th Indonesian Independence Day.
"Usually I rarely go on a KRL, especially if it's crowded. But because there is a promo of IDR 80, my friends and I want to feel the hecticness of the Indonesian Independence Day as well as recreation to Monas," said Reza (19) at Klender Station, East Jakarta.
According to Reza, the Rp80 KRL tariff is an attraction for residents to enjoy the trip as well as celebrate the 80th Indonesian Independence Day in Jakarta.
"When I read the news, it's quite interesting that all transportation rich in KRL only pays Rp80, so I just want to go to Jakarta, to Monas," said Reza.
In order to enliven the Commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, the Ministry of Transportation and the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta together with railway operators present a special tariff discount program, which is Rp80.
This special tariff applies to all Jabodetabek KRL travel services, Jabodebek LRT, Jakarta LRT and Jakarta MRT on August 17-18, 2025.
This policy is a form of collaboration between the government and railway operators in supporting the celebration of Indonesian Independence Day as well as increasing public access to public transportation.
On the other hand, the operator has prepared several strategic steps to support the smooth operation at that moment.
This includes adjusting operational schedules to minimize headways (distance between trains), strengthening security at a number of stations, as well as intensive socialization through mass media, communities and digital platforms.
The adjustment was made at the same time to support the smooth activities of the People's Party and the Independence Carnival which will take place in the Monas area to Jalan MH Thamrin-Sudirman, Central Jakarta.
