1,054 Dancers Celebrate RI's 80th Anniversary At The Jakarta Presidential Palace
The Ministry of Tourism presents 1,054 dancers in art and cultural performances to enliven the celebration ceremony for the 80th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia or the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on August 17, 2025.
Minister of Tourism Widiyanti Putri Wardhana in her press statement in Jakarta, Saturday, said that the dancers who will appear in the independence commemoration ceremony include 200 dancers from North Sulawesi, 200 dancers from Lombok, 170 dancers from Wakatobi, 100 pencak silat dancers, and 384 dancers for special presentations.
In addition to presenting dancers in art and culture performances, the government also presented singers such as Cakra Khan, Isyana Sarasvati, Endah Laras, Rossa, Ruth Sahanaya, and Chocolate as well as other Indonesian musicians at the celebration of the 80th Indonesian Independence Day.
"This is an epic collaboration involving more than a thousand dancers and a number of well-known Indonesian musicians. Not only entertainment, but also a window to see the wealth and uniqueness of an area or nation," said the Minister of Tourism.

The Minister of Tourism hopes that the performance of dancers and artists at the Indonesian Independence Day celebration event can generate a sense of love for the richness of Indonesian arts and culture.
"I also hope that their appearance will become a tourist attraction that is able to move tourists to visit Indonesia and enjoy the charm of our culture," he said.
He added that art and culture are the main foundations of tourism. Both give lives, meanings, and uniqueness to tourist destinations.
On the commemoration of Indonesia's independence day, the Ministry of Tourism together with other relevant ministries and institutions also held a People's Party from day to night in the National Monument (Monas) area as well as along the Jalan Jenderal Sudirman and MH Thamrin Jakarta on August 17, 2025.
