DKI Provincial Government Conservation Pedestal Statue Of Pancoran, Maintain Cultural Heritage
JAKARTA - The Dirgantara Statue Monument or better known as the Pancoran Statue was designed by Edhi Sunarso around 1964 (1965 with the help of the Yogyakarta Arca Family.
Now, the DKI Jakarta Provincial government is conserving the pedestal or Pancoran Statue pole in South Jakarta as part of conservation efforts.
Head of the DKI Jakarta Culture Service, Mochamad Miftahullloh Tamary in Jakarta, Saturday, said that the condition of the Pedestal Statue of the Aerospace was not good with lots of paint peeling off.
Because this statue is one of the cultural heritages, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) is obliged to maintain, care for and preserve heritage from its predecessors.
"It's a cultural heritage building. So that it remains sustainable, it must be repaired. Because it is already covered and can damage the building structure if left alone. Therefore, according to the direction of the Governor this year we will repair the pedestal," said Miftah, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, August 16.
The treatment carried out includes heating and coatings on the pillars of the statue so that the appearance is more attractive and maintained.
"The first step, the old paint is dredged. Next, a 'coating' will be carried out and a special painting for cultural heritage buildings," said Miftah.

Conservation work starts on August 11, 2025 and is estimated for 60 calendar days. Conservation is maintenance and protection of something regularly to prevent damage and destruction by means of preserving, preserving and preserving.
The work was carried out by special personnel of around eight to 10 people consisting of technical implementers of pedestal care, supervisors and field security officers.
"The budget comes from the Culture Service," said Miftah.
The Culture Service will budget funds for the conservation of other cultural heritage buildings.
"In the future, we will also do the same for other statues in Jakarta such as the Welcome Statue at the HI Roundabout, the Banteng Field Statue and many others," he said.
