Tomorrow, Japan Challenges Italy In The U-21 Women's Volleyball World Championship Final In Surabaya

SURABAYA - To be held in Surabaya, Sunday, August 17, Japan's U-21 women's national volleyball team challenged Italy in the final round of the 2025 Women's U-21 World Volleyball Championship.

This assurance was obtained after Japan overcomes the resistance of Bulgaria in three straight sets, 25-17, 25-18, and 25-13 in the semifinal match which took place at the Java Pos Arena, Surabaya, East Java, Saturday.

In the first set, reported by ANTARA, Saturday, August 16, Japan immediately appeared out dominating the game through combinations of rapid attack.

Bulgaria, which was able to match the tempo of Japan's game, had difficulties when entering the middle of the set. Japan won 19-16.

Entering the end of the first set, Japan stepped on the gas by stealing six consecutive points to close the position 25-17.

In the second set, Japan appeared not to relax the attack and continued to beat the Bulgarian defense.

Japan, which was driven by Koyumi Fukumura, was able to take a far-reaching lead at six points, 16-10.

Bulgaria continues to struggle with the game of suppressing Japan so flexible. Japan finally closed the second set with a score of 25-18.

Entering the third set, Japan did not give its breath and continued to appear dominant after gaining points by points.

Fukumura and his friends are eight points ahead of Bulgaria, 15-7.

It didn't take long for Japan to end Bulgaria's resistance with a landslide victory of 25-13.

This victory also led Japan to a chance to eradicate revenge over Italy after the 2023 U-21 World Championships tournament ran aground in the semifinals.
