More Than 10 Thousand Passengers Enjoy KAI's Free Promo On August 17

PT KAI Operational Area (Daop) 1 Jakarta noted that 10,646 people took advantage of the Merdeka Promo ticket with a 20 percent discount for train departures (KA) on August 17, 2025.

"The Merdeka promo with a 20 percent discount received an extraordinary response. More than 10 thousand customers have used it for trips on August 17," said Public Relations Manager of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Daop 1 Jakarta, Ixfan Hendriwintoko in Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, August 16.

In addition, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta also recorded a high number of passengers during the long 14-18 August 2025 holiday period, reaching 250,955 people.

Of this number, the number of passengers riding the long train reached 121,200 people and 18,543 people riding the local train. Meanwhile, passengers got off in the Daop 1 area of Jakarta 111,212 people.

This Saturday, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta operated 75 long-distance train trips departing from two main stations, namely 40 trips from Gambir Station and 35 trips from Pasar Senen Station.

Meanwhile, for local trains, 11 trips were operated, consisting of eight Pangrango Local Train trips and three Siliwangi Local Train trips.

KAI urges customers to always pay attention to the departure schedule, arrive early to the station and maintain order and comfort together during the trip.
