Tibo Monabesa Challenges Boxers Unbeaten By Kazakhstan, China's WBA Asian Belt Competition Heat Duel
JAKARTA - Boxer from Indonesia, Tibo Monabesa, will certainly enter the ring against a tough opponent from Kazakhstan, Yelshat Nikhemttola, in the fight for the Bantam (53.5 kg) World Boxing Association (WBA) Asia title. This prestigious battle will be held in Suzhou, China, on September 5 as part of the WBA Asian Convention agenda.
WBA in its official statement said that the Monabesa and Nikhemtola duels were one of the main parties awaited by the Asian boxing public. Monabesa itself is in high confidence after recording a victory over Ricardo Sueno from the Philippines in Timor Leste. The boxer from East Nusa Tenggara is currently pocketing a record 22 wins, with eight of them being won by knockout (KO), losing twice, and drawing twice.
Tibo will face a tough challenge because Nikhemttola is the East Asian WBA champion who has never tasted defeat in his career. The boxer from Kazakhstan has an impressive record of 21 wins (8 KOs) and two draws.

Finally, he had to settle for sharing the draw against Fillemon Nghutenanye from Namibia last March. Nikhemtola is determined to maintain his unbeaten status and win the WBA Asia championship belt to assert his dominance in the bantam class.
In addition to the Monabesa vs Nikhemttola duel, the WBA Asian Convention will also present a number of other high-risk matches. One of them is the heavyweight fight between home boxer Yize Jiang against Herman Clean from Australia.
Jiang has a record of five wins (four knockouts) and one defeat, including a knockout victory over Asir Bandor from India in his last match. Meanwhile, Priscilla, who is more experienced, is trying to get up after falling from Veli Mafi from New Zealand.
Another interesting party is the race for the WBA Asia super lightweight title that brought together Chinese boxer Lequan Wang, against 40-year-old Japanese veteran Alkihiro Kondo. Wang currently has a record 10 wins (seven KOs) and two defeats, while Kondo comes with high motivation to end the three-match record without a win.
The WBA emphasized that all these fights were part of efforts to strengthen the existence of boxing in the Asian region through the Asian Convention. This event is not only a place for the struggle for the championship belt, but also a place to bring together elite boxers and boxing representatives from various countries to advance sports under the WBA flag.
If Monabesa succeeds in defeating Nikhemtola, this victory will be a great achievement for Indonesia on the Asian boxing stage as well as adding to the list of achievements of the NTT boxer in his professional career.
