Putin Agrees Ukraine's Security Must Be Guaranteed: We Are Ready To Realize It

JAKARTA - Russian President Vladimir Putin insists he agrees that Ukraine's security must be guaranteed. Putin agreed to a path of peace with Ukraine.

"I agree with (US President Donald) Trump that Ukraine's security must be guaranteed, and of course, we are ready to make it happen," he said at a press conference with US President Donald Trump.

"I hope the agreement we have reached together will help us get closer to achieving that goal and will pave the way for peace in Ukraine," he continued.

President Putin started his remarks at a press conference admitting US-Russia relations had deteriorated in recent years.

It is known that there has been no summit between Russia and the US for four years, and that's a long time. These times are very difficult for bilateral relations, and frankly, those relations have reached their lowest point since the Cold War. I don't think it benefits our country and the world as a whole," he explained.

"Face-to-face meetings between heads of state have been awaited for a long time," said Putin.
