Naturalization Of Miliano Jonathans, Chairman Of PSSI Submits Files To Menpora
JAKARTA - PSSI General Chairperson (Ketum), Erick Thohir, revealed the progress of naturalizing the FC Utrecht player, Miliano Jonathans. He said the player's documents had been submitted to the Menpora, Dito Ariotedjo.
This news was shared by Erick Thohir in Instagram's latest upload on Friday, August 15, 2025, WIB night. According to the chairman of PSSI, the presence of the Miliano Jonathans was needed to strengthen the Indonesian national team in the Fourth Round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification.
"Meeting with the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Dito Ariotedjo. On this occasion, PSSI submitted documents related to the naturalization of FC Utrecht player, Miliano Jonathans, who is 21 years old to be part of the Indonesian National Team which will compete in Round 4 2026 World Cup Qualification in Saudi Arabia in October."

Miliano Jonathans has long been linked with naturalization. Initially, the player who could fill the right wing position and the attacking midfielder was not willing to be naturalized to strengthen the Garuda Team.
PSSI's approach to Jonathans had already been carried out ahead of the 2023 U-17 World Cup. At that time, the player who was born on April 5, 2004 was not yet willing to defend Indonesia U-17.
Miliano Jonathans is an FC Utrecht attacking midfielder who plays at Eredivisie. The 21-year-old player has Indonesian blood from his father's grandfather, who is said to have come from Depok.
In the Fourth Round of 2026 World Cup Qualification, the Indonesian national team occupied Group B along with Saudi Arabia and Iraq. Patrick Kluivert's team will meet Saudi Arabia on October 8, 2025, and Iraq on October 11, 2025.
