Nanggala-402 Sorrow, Participants From These 6 Countries One By One Recite Poetry

JAKARTA - The reading of Nanggala 402 poem online was organized by the National Poetry Association of Malaysia (PEMUISI) Saturday night to Sunday morning attended by participants from six countries namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Thailand and South Korea.

PEMUISI President Datuk Radzuan Ibrahim said that the poem read at the event will be broadcast in the Special Edition of PEMUISI Journal of Kri Nanggala 402 Condolences to be published in July 2021.

"A participant who was declared positive for COVID-19 the day before, Novi Junaidi (34) who is also an Indonesian language teacher in Bogor, West Java, was not discouraged to continue her participation in the Nanggala 402 Poetry Reading event through the Zoom application organized by PEMUISI," radzuan said reported by Antara, Monday, May 10.

Novi said that although her health condition did not allow her to feel that was the way to thank the fighters who had sacrificed to defend the nation and the country in the sinking of the submarine KRI Nanggala 402 in bali waters on April 21.

"Although he was in difficult conditions at the time, he felt this was his form of gratitude to the fighters who had sacrificed to defend the nation and the country. He also felt moved and happy because the friendly country is very concerned about the events that have happened in Indonesia," radzuan said.

Therefore, said Radzuan, there is a sense of responsibility for him because the poetry readings are done not only for himself but for the nation and the country and according to him also for the committee that has prepared well.

On this occasion Novi Junaidi who read his poem entitled "Nanggala Senjata Baladewa" which was one of the eight members of Sumbar Talenta Indonesia who participated in the event which gathered 30 participants from Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei, Thailand and South Korea.

Participants from Malaysia included state poet Datuk Dr. Zurinah Hassan, Head of the Board of Management of the Board of Languages and Libraries, Datuk Seri Dr. Awang Sariyan and former Deputy Chancellor of the University of Malaya, Datuk Prof. Emeritus Dr. Hashim Yaacob.

While Singapore is represented by married couple Samsuri Sumadi and Ratna, Brunei by Dr. Zefri Ariff, Thailand by Dr. Suraiya Japakiya and South Korea by Dr. Myoung Sook Kang.

Indonesia is represented by professors Drs. Siamir Marulafau from the University of North Sumatra (USU), Asrizal Nur, Leader of the Association of Asnur Art Houses (PERRUAS) and Sastri Bakry, founder of Sumbar Talenta. Sastri Bakry who also read the poem at the event said his organization's inclusion in the event was a tribute to him.

"Alhamdulillah, a great tribute to Sumbar Talenta Indonesia because we can collaborate and pay homage to the spirits of the heroes of Nanggala 402. Read Nanggala Poem 402 is a great appreciation for our heroes who are victims of the ferocity of the sea," he said.

He expressed pride to be invited to sing the rhys because since the preparation until the appearance of May 8, grief has enveloped the members of Sumbar Talenta let alone himself wrote nanggala poems really from the bottom of his heart.

Meanwhile, Azrizal Nur said that in addition to the good performance of all participants, the preparation of techniques by the committee was also very satisfactory.

The event that was broadcast live on Facebook PEMUISI KARYA was also accompanied by two figures of Ikatan Setiakawan Wartawan Malaysia Indonesia (ISWAMI) namely Tokoh Wartawan Negara 2019, Tan Sri Johan Jaaffar and President of ISWAMI Indonesia Asro Kamal Rokan.
