Head Of BGN Ensures That The Per Portion Fee Of MBG 2026 Is Still IDR 10,000 Even Though The Budget Is Rising

JAKARTA - Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Dadan Hindayana ensures that the budget per serving for the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program next year remains at IDR 10,000.

Dadan emphasized that the total increase in the budget in 2026 was not caused by changes in the cost per portion, but the number of beneficiaries which had soared since the beginning of the year.

"(The cost per portion) remains, only the problem of receiving a lot of benefits," said Dadan at the head office of the Directorate General of Taxes at the Ministry of Finance, Jakarta, Friday, August 15.

This year, the government has prepared IDR 171 trillion for MBG. However, BGN estimates that the absorption will only be IDR 121 trillion because the new program will start on January 6, 2025, with around 300,000 beneficiaries.

That figure increased gradually until it was projected to reach 82.9 million people by the end of the year.

According to Dadan, by 2026, the number of beneficiaries will be directly at 82.9 million since the beginning of the year.

He added that this number could change slightly if there was an adjustment to the target group.

"Later we will see if there are additional pregnant women, whether there are additional children under five. But every time there is an addition, right, this one is released. So, the possibility will not change too much," he said.

With the full number of beneficiaries since the beginning of the year, Dadan ensures that the value per serving remains the same in 2026.

"There has been no change in any ceiling related to the portion of food. So, this is purely because the number of beneficiaries is already in large quantities," explained Dadan.

Previously, President Prabowo Subianto revealed that the government would allocate a budget of IDR 335 trillion for the MBG program next year.

"We allocated the MBG budget for 2026 of IDR 335 trillion," he said in a speech on the 2026 Financial Note and RAPBN at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Friday, August 15.

Through MBG, continued Prabowo, the government wants to ensure that every Indonesian child has access to nutritious food. So, it can help overcome stunting problems in Indonesia.

"The superior generation was born from a healthy body with met nutrition. It eliminates stunting as soon as possible. The MBG program has been implemented in all provinces and continues to be built to reach all corners of the country," he said.

Prabowo said the program was targeted to be able to reach 82.9 million beneficiaries. Consisting of students, pregnant women and toddlers. He said, the group will receive the benefits of optimal nutritional intake through a nutritional fulfillment service unit (SPPG) built in all corners of the country.
