U-21 Women's Volleyball World Championship Results: Indonesia Silenced By Thailand 0-3

JAKARTA The Indonesian Women's Volleyball national team lost 0-3 (24-26, 19-25, and 22-25) against Thailand in the classification match ranked 9-16 for the 2025 U-21 Women's Volleyball World Championship (FIVB Women's U-21 World Championship 2025) in Surabaya on Friday, August 15, 2025, WIB night.

Junaida Santi and colleagues started the clash well, leading the opponent with a score of 6-3. Thailand had equalized the score 10-10 before Indonesia with a fierce score of six consecutive points.

Indonesia's journey in this set looks even smoother when the advantage goes wide to 19-12. Marcos Sugiyama's squad's victory was actually in sight when he managed to lead 24-22.

Unfortunately, the opposing team was able to get out of the pressure at these critical points. They managed to score six consecutive points to take a 1-0 advantage over Garuda Pertiwi.

After losing in the first set, Indonesia then got up and secured the first two points in the second set. After that, the two countries took turns scoring until 16-16. However, Thailand began to get momentum after that to secure the second set.

In the third set, the game was going much tighter. The pursuit of numbers occurred from the start, but Indonesia began to waver in the final points so that it failed to extend the match.

This defeat made Indonesia's move to continue its journey to classify its 13-16 rating. Furthermore, they will face South Korea on Saturday, August 16, 2025.

Thailand is advancing to compete for the position 9 to 12. The White Elephant Country will then certainly face the Czech Republic.
