Fire In Russia Kills Five People, 100 Injured

JAKARTA - Five people were killed and more than 100 others injured in a fire in a company in Ryazan City, Russia, according to local Governor Pavel Malkov on Friday.

Ryazan City's operational headquarters previously reported four people died as a result of the tragedy.

The fire hit a production plant in one of the companies in Chulovsky district. Based on preliminary information, five people died. More than 100 people were injured, including from broken glass," Malkov said via Telegram as reported by ANTARA from Sputnik, Friday, August 15.

According to him, all victims have been given all the necessary assistance, including psychological assistance.

Malkov, who was at the scene, instructed regional heads to establish an emergency situation at the city level.

Earlier on the same day, the investigation department of the Russian Investigative Committee for Ryazan City declared a criminal case on the basis of a crime based on Article 3 of Article 217 of the Russian Criminal Code, which implies a violation of industry safety requirements resulting in the death of two people or more due to negligence, has been opened.
