Prabowo Targets For The Next 10 Years Electricity In RI 100 Percent Sourced From EBT
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto targets 100 percent of electricity sources in Indonesia to come from the use of new and renewable energy (EBT). This target is expected to be realized in the next 10 years.
The EBT sources that will be used to achieve these targets include solar, hydro, and geothermal power.
"We must achieve 100 percent of power plants from new and renewable energy within 10 years or sooner," he said in delivering the 2026 RAPBN and Financial Notes, at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Friday, August 15.
Prabowo said the world had committed to implementing net zero emissions in all sectors by 2060.
However, Prabowo is optimistic that Indonesia will be able to realize the use of clean energy completely faster.
Furthermore, Prabowo is optimistic that he can realize self-sufficiency in energy during his leadership period. Several strategies will be carried out, starting from increasing crude oil production ready to sell or lift, to maximizing the potential of EBT.
"I'm sure this can be achieved from the 2060 target, we can achieve it much faster," he said.
For your information, in 2024 the installed capacity of EBT plants is 761.9 megawatts (MW).
Then, in the first semester of this year there was an increase of 15 percent.
