Rich Brian And His Two Sides On The Latest Album, WHERE IS MY HEAD?

JAKARTA - Rich Brian's most personal album titled WHEE IS MY HEAD? Released via 88rising, this is his first studio album since 2019.

WHERE IS MY HEAD? described as an honest and reflective recording of Brian's maturity journey, which has captured his emotional and creative evolution over the past six years.

Written and largely self-produced, the album reflects Brian's growing desire to control artistic aspects more deeply and authentically. The album explores the themes of heartbreak and healing, ambition and robustness, memory and self-discovery.

Through 15 songs that include collaboration with artists such as Toro y Moi in Body High, Charlotte Day Wilson and DAISY WORLD in It?, as well as redveil in Bumpy Road, Brian shared stories about the impact of long-term relationships, feelings of guilt for missing important family moments, and his identity search as someone living between different cultures and expectations.

Packed with interesting surprises such as the single Little Ray of Light, Butterfly, and Jumpy with high energy Ski featuring Mask The Slump God, Brian shows the latest characters and techniques he feels as a musician.

To mark the release of his album, Brian introduced She featuring Kuris Wells as the project's main single. This relaxed alternative hip-hop song tells the story of love, loss, and reflection, combining deep production with Brian's introspective lyrics. The song was released in conjunction with a visualizer directed by Jared Hogan, who expanded the rich cinematic world of this album.

Conceptually, WHEE IS MY HEAD? introduces two versions of Brian: Maestro, a conductor who broadcasts music for dreams, and Movie Brian, who lives unconsciously in the world created by Maestro. This realistic and symbolic narrative is presented through a series of music videos and visualizers directed by Hogan, providing fans with immersive and emotional experiences.

With WHERE IS MY HEAD?, Rich Brian redefines success in his own way. From analog synthesizer to minimalist vocals, this album features the most vulnerable and mature work of Rich Brian to date.
