The Second Year Of The DPR For The 2024-2029 Period, Puan: We Have Received 5,642 People's Reports
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, said that during the first year of the DPR RI term of 2024-2029, the council had received at least 5,642 reports and complaints from the public.
Puan said this is one of the functions of the DPR RI in carrying out its supervisory role which is directed to increase the effectiveness of the government in solving various problems of the people.
This was conveyed by Puan when she opened the First Session Period of the 2025 '2026 Session Year at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday, August 15.
"Each report has been followed up through the supervisory function of the DPR RI, with recommendations to be followed up by the Government quickly and accurately," said Puan.

If calculated per day, Puan said, there were around 15 to 16 reports per day submitted to the DPR, and all of them had been followed up through a monitoring mechanism.
"Following up on these recommendations is not just an administrative obligation, but part of a constitutional commitment in a power partnership relationship that is equal between the legislative and executive institutions," he said.
In her speech, Puan highlighted a number of actual issues that are of public concern and have been followed up by the DPR. Some of them are the handling of the blocking ofdomant accounts by PPATK, plans to control abandoned land, the implementation of the People's School program, and the evaluation of the Free Nutrition Food Program.
"The DPR also monitors the management of functional job allowances in central and regional agencies, as well as the proposal to change the social assistance distribution system from a lifetime model to a five-year system," he said.
Puan also ensured that the DPR oversees the issue of protecting personal data as part of an international trade agreement, the implementation of the Constitutional Court Decision (MK) on free education at the elementary and junior high school levels, as well as the implementation of song copyright royalties is also an important concern.
The former Coordinating Minister emphasized that the attention of the DPR is not limited to national major issues, but also comes from public reports that continue to come to the DPR RI every day.
"There are still many people's problems that are conveyed directly to the DPR RI, both through the aspirations of electoral regions, public complaints, and official forums provided by the DPR. The people's expectations are clear: so that every problem they face gets attention and can be resolved immediately through responsive state policies," he said.
