Puan Reminds RAPBN 2026 Must Consider Global Uncertainty Conditions
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) Puan Maharani reminded the government regarding the impact of uncertain global conditions and situations. He said this condition would have an impact on slowing global economic movement.
Not only that, he continued, the uncertainty of the global situation will also have an impact on disrupting the distribution of strategic commodities, and industrial supply chains can also be affected.
"In the end, it has influenced the monetary, fiscal, national real sector, and people's income in Indonesia," he said at the opening of the DPR session, at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Friday, August 15.
Therefore, Puan hopes that the government will consider this global factor in assessing the Draft Law on the State Budget (RAPBN) for Fiscal Year 2026.
"The preparation of the Draft Law on the State Budget for Fiscal Year 2026 is expected to have considered these various global factors in fiscal policy in 2026," he said.

Puan said the State Budget is a very important instrument in maintaining national economic stability, supporting people's purchasing power, meeting the basic needs of the people, and carrying out development in all fields, always having limited fiscal space.
He also said the need for state spending for development would always be greater than the ability of state revenues.
"Therefore, in the limited fiscal space and strict deficit space, the Government must be able to set spending priorities, as well as implement effective and efficient spending policies," he said.
