Launching On Android, Clubhouse Experiences Decreased Downloads On IOS?

JAKARTA - After a long wait, clubhouse finally launched for Android users. However, this trial can only be enjoyed by citizens of the United States (USA) first.

If you live in the US, you can already download the Clubhouse on the Play Store at this time. The company said it would gradually make the new app available in other English-speaking countries and then around the world.

Launching The Verge on Monday, May 10, the $4 billion social network was launched as an iPhone-only app last year. The app quickly gained popularity in the same year, attracting several well-known celebrities, politicians, investors, and entrepreneurs.

The clubhouse began developing Android apps earlier this year and tested the beta version externally this month. The startup said the availability of its apps on Android has become the most requested product.

"Our plan over the next few weeks is to gather feedback from the community, fix the issues we're looking at and work to add some final features such as payments and club creation before launching it more broadly," the Clubhouse said.

Meanwhile, according to a Reuters report, the Clubhouse experienced a decrease in the number of downloads on iOS devices. Data from Sensor Tower shows the Clubhouse peaked in February with 9.6 million downloads, that figure dropping to 2.7 million in March and then 900,000 downloads in April.

The decline raises the question of how popular the Clubhouse is actually selling exclusivity. Even with the launch of the Android version, clubhouse wants to increase the number of users.

Considering the Android version of the Clubhouse occurred when a number of tech giants including Facebook, Twitter, Discord, Spotify, Reddit and Microsoft LinkedIn launched similar audio services. For example Twitter with Spaces, has emerged as one of the biggest competitors for the Clubhouse.
