Indonesia U-17 Vs Uzbekistan U-17 In The 2025 Independence Cup: Time To Measure Ability

JAKARTA - The second match of the 2025 Independence Cup will be held by bringing together the U-17 Indonesian national team against Uzbekistan U-17.

The duel will take place at the Main Stadium of North Sumatra on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 19.00 WIB and broadcast live on Indosiar.

This match against Uzbekistan will be the second opportunity for Nova Arianto's squad to try out one of Central Asian countries that has competitive strength at various age groups, including the U-17.

Uzbekistan is listed as the quarter-finalist of the 2023 U-17 World Cup in Indonesia. The White Wolf squad is also the winner of the 2025 U-17 Asian Cup.

In the first match, Indonesia faced Tajikistan U-17. Having led twice, Mierza Firjatullah and his friends had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

While in its inaugural match, Uzbekistan lost 1-5 to Mali U-17. Although Mali is also a strong team, third place in the 2023 U-17 World Cup and runner-up in the 2025 U-17 Africa Cup, the defeat of Uzbekistan remains a surprise and invites questions about the quality of the team.

After the first match, the Indonesian U-17 players are determined to achieve good results to look at the 2025 U-17 World Cup. This is in line with the purpose of holding the 2025 Independence Cup which will be a test match before playing at the U-17 World Cup which will take place in November 2025.

"Our focus is of course leading to the 2025 U-17 World Cup. We have built a good foundation. Now we have points that we can improve on," said one of Garuda Muda's employees, Mathew Baker.

In addition to the Indonesia U-17 vs Uzbekistan national team match, another match which will take place on Friday, August 15, 2025, will bring together Mali vs Tajikistan.
