Alluding To Corruption Practices In BUMN-BUMD, Prabowo: Not Facts That Must Be Covered Up

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto touched on the practice of corruption which is a big problem in the Indonesian nation. He said this corrupt practice also occurred in State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) and Regional Owned Enterprises (BUMD).

"We understand that corruption is a big problem in our nation. Corruption behavior exists in every echelon of our bureaucracy. It exists in every government institution and organization," he said at the MPR RI Annual Session and the 2025 DPR-DPD RI Joint Session, at the DPR Building, Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Friday, August 15.

"Corruption behavior is in our BUMN-BUMN, it is in our BUMD-BUMD. This is not a fact that we must cover up," he continued.

Prabowo said that based on the history of mankind, if there is power that is not supervised, power will become corrupt. He admits corruption is a big problem in this country.

In fact, continued Prabowo, after 299 days of leading Indonesia, he realized the magnitude of abuses that existed within the government.

"After 299 days I led the executive government, I increasingly know how much our challenges are. How much abuse is in our government environment," he said.

Prabowo said that although this is not good information, the public needs to know the real condition.

"This is not good but I have to report it to the representatives of the Indonesian people," he said.
