Government Will Extend Ppkm Micro Until May 31, This Is The Reason
JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs and Chairman of the Committee for Handling COVID-19 and National Economic Recovery (KCP-PEN) Airlangga Hartarto said that the government will extend the period of implementation of restrictions on micro-scale community activities (PPKM).
"In the implementation of ppkm micro eighth stage, will be extended on May 18 to 31," said Airlangga in a Youtube impression of the Presidential Secretariat, Monday, May 10.
Airlangga said that the extension of micro PPKM remains in 30 provinces that have implemented today. These provinces are DKI Jakarta, West Java, Banten, Central Java, East Java, Special Region of Yogyakarta, Bali, North Sumatra, East Kalimantan, South Sulawesi.
Then, South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, East Nusa Tenggara, West Nusa Tenggara, North Kalimantan, Aceh, South Sumatra, Riau, Papua.
Then, West Sumatra, Jambi, Bangka Belitung Islands, Lampung, West Kalimantan, Riau Islands, Bengkulu, Central Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, and West Papua.
Airlangga said, there is a potential increase in cases in the two weeks after Eid al-Fitr. Many residents are desperate to return home even though it has been banned. The increase in cases always occurs during the previous long holiday period.
"The 18th to 31st of May is a period of 2 weeks from the post-Eid al-Fitr. Of course there is a tightening of 3T (tracing, testing, treatment)," said Airlangga.
Currently, there are 3 provinces that have experienced increased mobility of the national population, namely North Maluku, Bengkulu, and Southeast Sulawesi. The high mobility is caused by many people who prepare for the fulfillment of the needs ahead of Eid al-Fitr.
"We see in this month of Ramadan retail sector, malls, and grocery stores mobility is high," said Airlangga.
Meanwhile, three provinces with low mobility are Bali, Yogyakarta, and Riau Islands. However, especially riau islands, there is a rise in cases due to the arrival of many migrant workers returning from abroad.
