Exclusive Jason Ranti And Dongker, Collaborations That Don't Exploit Each Other
JAKARTA - Jason Ranti and Dongker will launch a collaboration album titled "I Don't Know And I Dongker" on August 22. This project is a place for both of them to influence each other.
Dongker described this collaboration as mukjizat which exists above the sky, continues to descend to Jagakarsa and Tirtayasa in Bandung, which eventually becomes a work that makes us amazed by nirvana.
Dongker guitarist Delpi said this collaboration stemmed from an appearance at Tau Tau Fest, which then continued to visit Jason Ranti and his family.
"So, we played at Mas Jeje's house (Jason Ranti's nickname) in October (last year). We visited until finally the jamming, and the jamming was quite routine, meaning that we would go to Jakarta for jamming," said Delpi, when Dongker and Jason Ranti visited the VOI office in Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, recently.
The meeting, said Jeje, continued with various conversations which actually led to many ideas. In the end, collaboration works were unavoidable.
"The approach is normal, normal. We play, hang out with friends, coffee, smoke, chat. Yes, just start there," said Jeje.
In April, the recording began. Then six tracks were selected and three bonus tracks were decided to be the material presented at I Don't Know And I Dongker.
Although both of them have different musical colors, Jason said there is no feeling to want to exploit them. They choose a novelty, which ultimately affects each other.
Actually, no one feels explored, but affects each other in the end. By way of thinking about them, by playing me, the way they play music, their approach to many things. Finally fighting each other, affecting each other," Jason said.
"Technically, the most visible, Mas Jeje plays electric guitar, and we use acoustics," said Delpi.
So far, two singles have been introduced before, namely 'wrong display' on June 20 and 'I'm bored in August. Both have different nuances, called Arno' the Dongker vocalist' as the opening for the diversity of the album 'I Don't Know And I Dongker'.
"There are many kinds of ministries. The world has a world of work, there is a world of kindergarten, and there is also a world of heaven and hell," said Arno.

This collaboration album not only displays music. Beautiful art ideas were also presented. Tells how romanticism is to fine arts and Bandung from the point of view of critical, personal, and unique Jason Ranti and Dongker.
It goes parallel, it's natural. They have an art educational background and are surrounded by people who have visual awareness other than having musical abilities so we are grateful that we are in the right environment with the right friends," Jeje said regarding the presence of art concepts in this collaboration.
The presence of this fine art concept is also a uniqueness in itself, which for Jeje and Dongker, actually makes the interpretation of the musical works presented more diverse.
"Maybe the presence of visuals expands interpretation, or even makes it difficult, or even confusing. It could be. But the point is he is widening it," said Jeje.
Meanwhile, the song titled recomposed on the bandung was chosen as the focus track for this album. Delpi said the West Java capital was an important point where Dongker and Jason Ranti started the collaboration.
"I moved to Bandung to study and meet Arno, we banded in Bandung, in Ganesha. And coincidentally Mas Jeje was also there," said Delpi.
For Dongker, collaboration with Jason Ranti itself is the main target. Therefore, they didn't expect anything more to go viral than songs on the album "I Don't Know And I Dongker".
"The thing is, when it's processed, it makes it a whole music, we're already happy," said Arno. "I think the new work with Bung Jeje has been achieved. Well, that's it."
Similar to Delpi and Arno, Jeje chose not to worry about the listener's response to this collaboration album. He prefers to see his future this collaboration becomes a mystery.
"If it's a formal one, you definitely want this album to be accepted. But tired of living like that, you have to think about it. Let it go, let it be a mystery, it's a surprise. Whatever happens, it happens," Jeje concluded.
Meanwhile, the release of the album I Don't Know And I Dongker will continue with many collaboration shows. Jason Ranti and Dongker will try out cross-city tours, even crossing to neighboring countries, such as Malaysia and Singapore. Showcase will also be held in Bandung and Jakarta, which will take place at the Synchronize Fest 2025 event.
