TikTok Launches Update On Its Platform Community Guidelines

JAKARTA TikTok announced an update on its platform Community Guidelines. This refined guide is planned to be effective on September 13.

Through its official website, TikTok says that this guide is deliberately updated to make the rules clearer and easier for all users to comply with. That way, TikTok can maintain the security of users when creating and interacting.

The process of drafting guidelines for this application involves discussions with creators, experts, and organizations from more than 30 countries, including the TikTok regional Advisory Council. This is done so that TikTok can meet the expectations of the public and stakeholders.

Therefore, TikTok introduced new rules and standards in this update. One of the main focuses of this latest Community Guideline is overcoming misinformation better and perfecting the rules related to bullying.

There is also the merger of several previously separate rules, such as gambling, alcohol, tobacco, drugs, firearms, and dangerous weapons, into one regulated goods and services policy. In addition, there is also an update on the Account and Feature section.

The section now reflects more security measures for various features, such as direct messages, comments, LIVEs, and TikTok Shops. The goal is to provide clarity on how these features work and what needs to be considered.

TikTok is also working to increase transparency in their way of enforcing the rules. They describe how to deal with the dangers that arise during the crisis. This is expected to provide a better understanding to users about the real action they take.

In addition, transparency regarding regional policies has also been increased. TikTok provides more information about how their policies are implemented in various regions. This application is adjusted to respect local culture and norms.

Users will begin receiving notifications about the latest Community Guidelines starting Thursday, August 14. This notification aims to give users time to understand the existing changes before the new rules take effect.
