Prabowo Wore A Gray Suit Instead Of Traditional Attire At This Year's Annual Meeting

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto attended the Annual Session of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) and the Joint Session of the House of Representatives (DPR) and Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday, August 15. The President arrived at around 8:33 a.m. Western Indonesian Time and was greeted by MPR Secretary General Siti Fauziah.

Prabowo did not wear traditional attire at this annual session, as he had during the Joko Widodo administration. He wore only a gray suit with a red and white pin.

A few moments later, the President shook hands with MPR Speaker Ahmad Muzani, DPR Speaker Puan Maharani, and DPD Speaker Sultan Bachtiar Najamuddin. The three also did not wear traditional attire as they had in previous years.

Muzani wore only a black suit, while Puan wore a green kebaya with a red shawl.

Previously, Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka arrived at around 8:12 a.m. Western Indonesian Time and was greeted by Puan and the Sultan.

In attendance were the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), and the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, as well as former Vice Presidents Try Soetrisno, Jusuf Kalla, and Ma'ruf Amin.

Then there were the ministers of the Red and White Cabinet, and other invited guests.
