2025 World Championships: 6 Indonesian Representatives Starting From The First Round
JAKARTA Half of the number of Indonesian representatives who will appear in the 2025 BWF World Championship or BWF World Championship will start their struggle from the first round.
The results of the 2025 World Championship draw were officially released by BWF on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, evening WIB. Indonesia sent as many as 12 representatives to the very prestigious tournament.
Five Indonesian representatives from the women's and men's singles sector will start their business from the earliest stages. The other is from the mixed doubles sector.
From the men's singles sector, Indonesia has Jonatan Christie, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, and Alwi Farhan. His last name got a chance to debut because Viktor Axelsen resigned.
In the first round, Jonathan will face Matthias Kicklitz (Germany), Alwi will face Nguyen Hai Dang (Vietnam), and Ginting meets Toma Junior Popov (France).

If both have a smooth journey then Jonathan and Alwi can meet in the quarter-finals. One of the two names may also meet Ginting in the semifinals.
From the women's singles sector, Indonesia sent Gregoria Mariska Tunjung and Putri Kusuma Wardani. On paper, their opponents in the first round were considered easy.
Gregoria will start the journey against Petra Maixnerova (Czech Republic), while Putri will start her steps in the tournament against Lo Sin Happy (Hong Kong).
The mixed doubles that will fight from the first half are Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari. The couple started their work against Ming Che Lu/Hung En-Tzu (China Taipei).
On the other hand, the other six representatives who got the vacant draw in the first half consisted of three men's doubles, two women's doubles, and the other from mixed doubles.
They are Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana, Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Mohammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani, Lanny Tria Mayasari/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti, Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi, and Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu.
The 2025 BWF World Championships will take place on August 25-31, 2025. The match will be held at the Adidas Arena, Paris, France.
