Indonesian Skin And Shoes Products Reach Global Market

JAKARTA - The domestic skin, footwear and textile industry has again shown its existence in the international arena. Not only products from global brands are present, various local brands have also taken part, some have even penetrated the export market to foreign countries.

Indo Leather & Footwear (ILD) Expo 2025, which is entering its 18th year, comes as an international exhibition and a strategic event for the skin and footwear industry.

"Our target is 15 thousand visitors during the exhibition," said Daud D. Salim, CEO of Krista Exhibitions, when met at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta on Thursday, August 14, 2025.

This event was attended by 28 tenants from various countries.

"There are approximately 11 countries present at this exhibition, including China, Italy, India, Taiwan, Switzerland, Germany, other European countries, Vietnam and Malaysia," said Daud.

This year, the ILF Expo 2025 will be held simultaneously with the Indo Garment Textile (IGT) Expo 2025. Both are presented as a forum that unites creative ideas, technological advances, and the potential for business cooperation.

"This is where industry players can inspire each other, forge partnerships, and find breakthroughs relevant to global trends. Indonesia has great potential in the skin and footwear sector, and we want to ensure this potential develops into world-recognized power," said Daud.

Furthermore, he added that through this exhibition, collaboration is expected to be created that strengthens the supply chain from upstream to downstream.

"We want to encourage sustainable innovation and open wider market access. This exhibition is a form of commitment to raise the domestic industry to be more competitive in the international arena," he added.

Not only in terms of product promotion, the raw material sector is also a concern. This was conveyed directly by the Chairman of the Indonesian Footwear Association (APRISINDO) Eddy Widjanarko highlighting the strategy of strengthening the supply of local raw materials.

"Currently, imports are still around 55'56%, while local materials are around 40%. In the future, we are looking for ways to make producers of raw materials available in Indonesia, so that domestic industries are more independent," explained Eddy.

The Indo Leather & Footwear (ILF) Expo 2025 which is entering its 18th year will be held on August 14 - 16, 2025 at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) Kemayoran.
