NTB Bawaslu ASN Reportedly Embezzled 12 Rental Cars To Tuak Cafe

The Mataram City Police received a report with the reported state civil apparatus (ASN) of West Nusa Tenggara with the initials lia on suspicion of embezzling 12 rental cars to a tuak cafe.

"So when the rental period expired at Bawaslu, the reported party pawned 12 cars at the tuak cafe in the Selagalas area, the transaction was there," said Head of the Mataram Police Satreskrim AKP Regi Halili as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, August 14.

Reportedly, the incident occurred after the 2025 General Election. The car was pawned and spread separately.

Now only three of the 12 cars rented from the Bandung area have been successfully secured by the police at the Mataram Police Headquarters.

"We have secured three, this is from West Lombok, Central Lombok, and East Lombok, the rest are still being searched," he said.

From the results of the examination of the witness who received the pawn, LIA was said to have pawned the vehicle on behalf of the NTB Bawaslu.

"He said the Bawaslu budget was lacking. So, first pawn the car to cover the shortage. If the budget is disbursed, it will be replaced," he said.

Regarding the reported party, Regi explained that his party is still searching by asking for help from the NTB Bawaslu, considering that LIA, who was not present, had complied with the police summons.

"We have summoned the person concerned twice, but he did not come. That's why we asked Bawaslu for help to be delivered to the person concerned. Otherwise, we will pick him up," said Regi.
