Liverpool Almost Get Giovanni Leoni From Parma
JAKARTA - Liverpool are close to reaching an agreement to recruit centre-back Giovanni Leoni from Parma.
According to ESPN reports, the 18-year-old previously attracted interest from Serie A club Inter Milan, but now appears to be moving to Anfield for an initial fee of 26 million pounds (approximately IDR 569 billion).
If the deal is reached, it will provide Liverpool with a crucial additional defense force following Jarell Quansah's departure to Bayer Leverkusen.
He will join Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, and Joe Gomez as one of Arne Slot's centre-back options for the coming season, having made 17 appearances in Serie A for the 2024/2025 Parma season.

The Merseyside club expects a fee of around 30 million pounds (around Rp656 billion) plus 5 million pounds.
Guehi has the remainder of a one-year contract and Crystal Palace Chairman Steve Parish admitted earlier this week that they may have been forced to let him go this summer.
Liverpool also had a timely defensive push ahead of their Premier League opener against Bournemouth on Saturday, August 16, 2025, early morning WIB, with Gomez returning to training.
The 28-year-old, the club's longest-serving player, is home early from the Asian tour due to acadelles injuries and was then out for three weeks.
However, he was seen taking pictures with his team-mates on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, local time, as preparations intensified for the opener of the season the champion stayed at Anfield.
