Demand For Administrative Workers Increases, Ministry Of Trade Drives Increased Service Exports To Russia

The Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) revealed that the opportunity to export Indonesia's service trade to Russia is increasingly wide open in line with the high demand for skilled workers or skills from Russian entrepreneurs.

The high demand was revealed in a series of Indonesian Trade Attach (Atdag) business meetings in Moscow with two Russian labor agencies, namely the Reale Inter Investment Group and the Interstate Migration Center (IMC) in Moscow, Russia.

Reale Inter Invest is a fairly large labor distribution agency company in Russia. Meanwhile, IMC itself is known as a company that helps select, recruit, and documentation for foreign workers in Russia and has a wide network with leading companies there.

A trade attach in Moscow, Ardianto Mahdi Wibowo revealed that Russia is in need of a skilled workforce that is quite significant in various sectors, including, in the garment and textile, agriculture, iron and steel industries, as well as food production plants.

"Demands also come for the position of plant maintenance officers and graha administrators (housekeepers) for hotel services, as well as welding technicians for the heavy industry sector," he said in an official statement, Thursday, August 14.

According to Ardianto, the mechanism for recruiting foreign workers in Russia started with a request from Russian companies to labor distribution agencies.

Then, he continued, the agencies will apply for a quota allocation to the Russian government to obtain approval to bring in foreign workers.

"This sizable job opportunity in the Russian market needs to be optimized to increase the contribution of service exports to the national economy," he explained.

Ardianto said that Indonesia-Russia economic relations are also predicted to increase in the coming year, especially with the planned signing of the Indonesia-Ereurarian Economic Union (EAEU) Free Trade Agreement by the end of 2025.

Along with strengthening this economic cooperation, continued Ardianto, the Russian government has also helped build global trust in political and economic stability.

"This effort was carried out through the implementation of various international economic forums held in big cities in Russia which were attended by heads of state or government from various countries including Indonesia," he said.

Russian Manpower Distribution Agency Wants To Open Office In Indonesia

When meeting Ardianto, representative of Reale Inter Invest Group, Sergey Pleshkov said, this agency plans to open branches in Indonesia to facilitate cooperation with various trusted labor distribution agencies in Indonesia.

"To develop a line of business, we will establish Reale Inter Invest in Indonesia in order to select the level of Indonesian labor skills according to the standards required by companies in Russia," said Pleshkov.

Meanwhile, Ardianto's meeting with IMC discussed the plan to conduct a business matching for migrant workers in September 2025.

The agenda will be held by the Indonesian Ministry of Trade as a meeting place for companies and labor provider agencies from Indonesia with similar agencies from each trade representative accreditation country in Europe.

IMC representative Sergey Tkachuk welcomed the business matching plan.

"Of course this is a good opportunity for us to connect with companies and labor provider agencies from Indonesia so that they can immediately communicate business," said Tkachuk.
