Trump Threatens To 'Heavi Consequence' If Putin Disapproves To End Ukraine's War
JAKARTA - US President Donald Trump promised "very heavy consequences" against Russia if President Vladimir Putin disagreed to end the war in Ukraine in a meeting of the two leaders on Friday, August 15.
"There will be consequences," Trump said at an event at the Kennedy Center in Washington.
When asked what the consequences meant meant meant a new sanction or tariff, Trump declined to explain.
"I don't need to say it," he said.
"There will be very heavy consequences," Trump stressed.
Trump previously threatened new sanctions against Moscow as punishment for Ukraine's war, setting last Friday as a time limit to enacting it unless Putin came to the negotiating table.

The deadline comes and goes without new sanctions, which may have a limited impact given the low level of trade between the US and Russia.
Trump also threatened secondary sanctions against countries that buy Russian energy.
Although Trump imposed a new levy on India, the number two Russian oil buyer, he did not even impose the new fee on India's largest customer, China.
