Minister Of Public Works Review Surakarta People's School, National Phase I Target Completed At The End Of August

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo ensured that the construction of Phase I Public School (SR) facilities and infrastructure spread across 159 locations nationally will be completed by the end of August 2025.

Phase 1C work is currently entering its final phase by leaving a furniture completeness work.

Minister Dody emphasized that the renovation of Phase I SR is part of the National Strategic Program which aims to provide access to decent education for people who have not been reached.

"The People's School targets people who have not received access to decent education, as well as one of the strategies to break the poverty chain through increasing independence as expected by President Prabowo Subianto," said Minister Dody while reviewing SR at the Surakarta Vocational and Productivity Training Center (BPBV), Tuesday, August 12.

Phase I SR Renovation utilizes existing buildings belonging to the Ministry of Social Affairs, assets of local governments, and universities that are converted.

The facilities built include classrooms, laboratories, libraries, teacher rooms, prayer rooms, fields, teacher official residences, dining rooms, UKS, and other supporting facilities.

Overall, Phase I work is divided into three phases, namely Phase 1A with 63 locations with operating status since July 14, 2025, Phase 1B with 37 locations functional on July 31, 2025, and Phase 1C with 59 locations still in the final stage of completion.

With the acceleration of the completion of Phase I, Minister Dody hopes that the People's School will become an instrument of equitable education, support poverty alleviation, and produce an independent and competitive generation of Indonesia.

Furthermore, the Phase II People's School is also being permanently prepared with land prepared by the Regional Government of around 5-10 hectares.

"It is hoped that the Phase II People's School will start construction in September 2025 and can be utilized in the 2026/2027 academic year. Later, students who have entered Phase I will be transferred to Phase II locations," said Minister Dody.

Sembari mempersiapkan proyek Tahap II, Menteri Dody memastikan seluruh fasilitas pendidikan pada Tahap I yang kini digunakan akan terus terpelihara dengan baik untuk menjamin keberlangsungan kegiatan belajar mengajar.

Salah satu dukungan sarana prasarana Sekolah Rakyat Tahap 1 berada di Provinsi Jawa Tengah sebanyak 12 lokasi. Saat ini telah selesai Tahap 1A sebanyak 7 lokasi, 1B sebanyak 2 lokasi, dan 1C sebanyak 3 lokasi.

While preparing for the Phase II project, Minister Dody ensured that all educational facilities in Phase I which are now being used will continue to be properly maintained to ensure the sustainability of teaching and learning activities.

One of the facilities for the Phase 1 People's School infrastructure is 12 locations in Central Java Province. Currently, Phase 1A has been completed as many as 7 locations, 1B as many as 2 locations, and 1C as many as 3 locations.
