Kemenbud Prepares Harmoni Sahabat KILA As A Celebration Of Creativity And The Art Spirit Of Indonesian Children

JAKARTA - In commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, the Ministry of Culture will present a musical drama performance of children titled 'Harmoni Sahabat KILA'.

KILA is a strategic effort by the Ministry of Culture in reviving the spirit of creation and appearance of quality, relevant, and educational Indonesian children's songs. In the media briefing held at the National Museum of Indonesia, the Minister of Culture, Fadli Zon, said that 'Harmony Sahabat KILA' is not just an ordinary art performance, but a stage of celebration of the creativity, enthusiasm, and talents of Indonesian children from all over the country.

Menbud Fadli emphasized the importance of music and culture as a unifying force for the nation as well as a cultural diplomacy instrument that can raise the name of Indonesia in the international arena. This musical performance will present a story that raises the enthusiasm of children in participating in the KILA competition, packaged with music, dance, and colorful songs performed directly by KILA finalists from various regions.

The Ministry of Education and Culture has a concern for preserving children's songs in Indonesia. As was the case on National Children's Day last year, the former 70-80s child singer was again present to revive memory. The hope is that regeneration will take place through various efforts.

"In the past, children's singers were very well known and the songs were inspiring. Currently, we need affirmation and rebuild the children's song ecosystem which brings a moral, encouraging message, and forms the character of the nation's children," he said.

Through the KILA program, Menbud Fadli hopes that quality children's songs will be born again, which are not only pleasing, but also educating. Not only that, Menbud Fadli also highlighted the importance of the growth of the art of musical drama performances in Indonesia.

"We hope that Indonesia can also have musical dramas, such as Broadway in the United States and West End in the UK. We are heading in that direction by forming a supportive ecosystem," he continued.

KILA 2025 recorded high enthusiasm from the community with a total of 1,023 participants, consisting of 253 children's songwriting participants and 770 children's song singing competition participants. After going through the initial selection process, as many as 15 best finalists from the song creation category and 50 finalists from the singing category will take part in the advanced audition stage whose results will finally be announced at the peak event of 'Harmoni Sahabat KILA'. The winners will include the three best children's songs from the songwriting competition as well as the six best child singers from the singing competition, namely Champion 1, 2, 3, and Three Hope Champions.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Giring Ganesha, who was also present at the media briefing, said that KILA is not just teaching musical skills, but also building children's confidence.

"KILA teaches children to always be grateful for their talents. Children are taught to be confident through music, art classes, and taught to be able to face the stage," he added.

At this media briefing, the appearance of Duta KILA, Felicia lebar and Rachel Panjaitan, opened the event by presenting the song United in Differences', 'Definitely Can', and 'We Love Children' as a closing.

Closing the media briefing, Menbud Fadli invited the entire community to attend and celebrate the spirit of Indonesian culture with the 'Harmony Sahabat KILA'. 'Let's support the Kita Cinta Anak movement for Indonesia's more cultured and cheerful future through the song,' he concluded.
