Left Behind By The Plane At Bali Airport, This Man Even Stole The Tablet Of Passengers Who Fell Asleep
The I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Area Police managed to uncover a case of theft of tablets in the waiting room area for the domestic departure check-in at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport.
A man with the initials YP (42) from West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) was arrested in a rented house in the Pemogan area, South Denpasar District, just hours after the victim reported the initials TFT (31) from Bandung, West Java.
"The victim only realized that he had lost after waking up. When checked at the airport's CCTV, it was seen that the perpetrator was wearing a gray jacket and took the tablet," said Head of Public Relations of the I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Police, Ipda I Gede Suka Artana, in a statement on Wednesday, August 13.
This case began when the victim was waiting for the flight schedule to Jakarta at around 12.30 WITA.
Since the check-in process has not been opened, the victim chose to sit in the waiting room and fall asleep.
Without realizing it, a man sitting next to him took a silver Redmi tablet from inside the victim's bag.
"The victim suffered a loss of around Rp. 4 million," he added
Receiving the victim's report, the Police Satreskrim team in the I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport area immediately conducted an investigation, checked CCTV footage and identified the characteristics of the perpetrator. Information led to the location of the perpetrator's hiding in the Pemogan area, Denpasar.
"The perpetrator was secured in a rented house. From the results of the initial interrogation, he admitted to stealing the tablet for sale and meeting his daily needs," he said.
The police then moved to a cellphone service counter on Jalan Pulau Saelus, Denpasar, where the perpetrator entrusted the tablet to forcibly open the password.
Evidence in the form of tablets, gray jackets, and blue jeans was successfully secured.
